I’ve always been pretty confident in myself when it came to financial business, but the universe just loves proving me wrong. I’m 27 years old and recently separated from the Navy as a Submarine Culinary Specialist. I separated mainly for personnel reasons; after 8 years I never wanted to go on a submarine again and when the opportunity came to re-enlist I declined. I had some savings, and the thought of being an ex military with both a culinary/administrative background as well as a security clearance I thought I would be set until I could take advantage of my GI bill. After repeatedly being turned down because of my lack of experience in the civilian world I was forced to look for minimum wage employment. Regardless I was still in a good position and only thought of it as a minor set back. Recently I had a blood clot in my inner ear. The temporary hearing loss in my right ear and my already poor eyesight was enough for the state to take away my driving license for 3 months. My Tricare ended 12 days before all this happened and I was forced to pay out of pocket. Now with me looking for new employment within walking distance i’m at the financial limit. I’ve turned in all my change, sold items I don’t need, turned off services which I do not need and i’m not even close to paying the rent, yet alone the energy bill. The last few weeks I have planned meals around rice and frozen/canned vegetables and peanut butter. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated, i’m not just looking for financial help(though it would help), as I feel I could have done things prior to my blood clot to prevent this but also if anyone has advice it would be greatly help. I’m blank on idea’s at this point, and any help would be of use until I can take advantage of my GI bill. Thanks in advance if you can help in any way. -Nick

Please I need your help,I dont know what to do but my child is about to be chased from school and am asking for $100 which happens to be the balance remaining to pay the school fees. Iam a single parent mum currently doing business but my business has not gone so well this month and i dont have money to pay.I dont want her to be chased from school.I have tried talking to the school but they only gave me 2 weeks in which to settle the balance,but I have not been able to find the money and the 2 weeks has expired.Am desperate.God bless.

I am drowning in debt.I cant afford my rent.I dont know what or how much I can write to enable you to understand my struggles right now.I know theres people going through worse. I have hit on some very. very rough times this month, due in large part to my oldest son coming to live with me after his mother was arrested and put in jail for several felony charges. When he came to live with me, it took my family of 4, who were making it on my Social Security Disablity, to a family of 5 who almost can't. I have managed to pay most of my bills, I have plenty of food in the house, and we are all clothed. The problems I am having are my rent and phone bill. I haven't been able to pay those at all, and I am behind on my phone bill to boot.. My rent is only $216.00, but when you have no money $216 is a rather large amount. I have $10 I can put toward the rent which is due Tuesday July, 19th. My past due on the phone bill is $183, and is due by Monday, July 18th, or I will lose phone service. I am not asking for an out and out hand out, I will pay this back. It may take a couple of months for everything to become stable enough to pay it back, but I will pay it back. I don't expect you to automatically believe me, based solely on my words, but that is all I have. I do not have a pay pal account, however I do have access to a Walmart if you can send a moneygram, or western union. Also the phone bill can be paid over the phone to the phone company, using a credit or debit card, or check by phone. Please do not dismiss this out of hand, I am on my last legs and this is my last hope. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
