I am a 40 years old,disabled Iraq vet,who is facing the harsh reality of becoming homeless.I am half paralyzed,8 and 9 vertebrae bones broken.Thanks to our "great" government,I was denied public assistance and free housing-due to complicated medical condition,live off 280$ SSI money per month.I haven't paid my rent for the room,where I live for three months(350$x3=1050$) and my landlord is giving me January 16 as a final date to pay him everything or I will get evicted and become homeless.My father passed away,my mother is in a hospital.Please good people,help me with whatever you can,I don't know what else to do.May God bless you.

Getting married should be the happiest time in someone's life. And it was for me. Four months ago I married the man of my dreams at the local courthouse. He left his family, job, and possessions and moved halfway across the country for me. I wanted everyone else to be happy too. Unfortunately, people at my current employment began to gossip, and spread rumors, and I was let go because I got married and because they wanted save face. I wanted to hire a lawyer but lacked the funds. I began frantically searching for another job and have a promising lead but it doesn't start until January. However, in the meantime, we are facing eviction and our first Christmas as a married couple as homeless people. We haven't paid any bills this month and I worry every day about food and whether the power will stay on. My husband has also tried desperately to get a job but has been discriminated against by several hiring places because of his ethnicity. I hate lowering myself to begging. This story is as real as it gets.   I would rather put a gun to my head and pull the trigger. Then ask people for change on the street corner. But it has been my reality. If I need something as simple as a 12 dollar pack of work socks. Or even a tee shirt. No one will help me. After 4 hours of asking for change. I might pull in enough money for one item. There is a place I lived at for 4years. A wooded area in Somerton. I went there to get away from people. Child hood abuse gave me PTSD. One day. I applied for social security. After living in the woods for 4 years. They mailed me a letter saying although my condition was diagnosed by their doctors as severe PTSD I do not qualify. So I filed an appeal.
