I'm a guy in his mid 50s who was downsized out of a job last year. January got a new job but thanks to "Sequestor" I was last one hired first one to let go. That was mid April and since then after dozens of applicatons and 4 interviews still out of work. And now I am dead broke with eveything around me going downhill. Unemployment ran out and have tried to go on SNAP for food but still have nothing. The 20 year old car runs but has no gas. I can walk to the Metro but have no money for the farecard. I am asking for help from anyone. Even a few dollars will give a meal this day. Thank God I have no children just 2 cats. My need is dire and is now. I have tried the social agencies but can't get to them for any interviews which they say will take a week to setup. In one week I will probably be dead. Already been to the pawnshops with what little of value I have. Trying to sell things on Craigslist but get nothing but stupid responses. I am real, the "system" has failed me. I need help right now. Hi, my name's Tim English. For years I was homeless and traveled from town to town, all across America. I ate out of the trash and begged for change. I got into this situation after my wife left me. I was so depressed I gave up on everything, and lost my apartment and everything I owned. I lived outside for years. Then I was in jail for a while due to a self-defense situation where I was charged with assault. I sat in jail for nine months (my family members couldn't afford to bail me out) before the district attorney came to me with a "deal": I could plead guilty and just get a couple months more in jail, or take it to trial and risk going to prison for five years. I was scared of going to prison, so I took the deal. Now I'm on parole and can't find a job. No one will hire me due to my felony record. I've applied for foodstamps, but they only gave $50 last month. I don't need much. I'd just like some help with rent and food. I wish I could find a job... I've been trying to find something online but haven't been able to find anything yet. I found my father online through Facebook, and I hadn't seen him since I was six years old. I'm staying with him now, but all he gets is about $1000 a month for his VA check, so it's not enough to support us both. If anyone could help, or at least point me in the right direction on how to get on online job, I'd be very grateful. Right now we're about a month behind on the rent, which is $400. This year I thought I fell in love with this beautiful Dutch girl I met online. Being a romantic kid of 19 I naively decided I would meet up with her. We've talked and skyped all year and 2 days ago I finally flew to holland to see her. It turns out there was no girl, just some "troll" who used a cam bot to fool me, pretty embarrassing eh? Flew all the way to Amsterdam for love and got laughed at instead. Well, I guess that's my fault, lesson learned eh? Well then I decided to make the most of my week here and went to Amsterdam yesterday, my first night went well in this beautiful city and I enjoyed it, I even felt better about being so guillable in the first place. Well, as if that wasn't enough as I was walking through the market this morning someone somehow managed to steal my wallet out of the front pocket of my jacket without me even noticing. I now have only 25€ out of the original 500 I came with. Again, you could say its my fault, but I'm having some pretty bad luck here... So if anyone could help me out, I'm not asking for you guys to refund that 500€ or anything, I only want whatever you can give me to help me get a plane ticket back to the UK. Hello. I am a 25 year old African American female. I had graduated from college back in December of 2011 and obtained a Bachelors of Science in General Biology. I want to use my degree to conduct research in the fields of breast cancer and lupus as I have performed that type of research while I was an undergraduate and it spoke to me as something I really want to do. My only problem is that they will not let me have it. I have a surcharge of $5000 left on my balance from the last semester I attended classes. The thing is, I had paid the surcharge for the spring semester which happened to be $3500. I was lucky enough to have gotten an internship in the summer and was able to pay my balance before the fall semester. But to my surprise, they charged me an additional surcharge in the middle of my fall 2011 semester. They let me walk and graduate, but they are keeping my degree until the additional $5000 is paid. I was unaware that I would be charged a second surcharge as it is not listed anywhere in the student handbook. I have exhausted all my resources trying to gain additional funds, ranging from retail, to food service, to help from family, but I do not have enough to survive and pay the school, especially not on minimum wage. I come from a very poor background. My father died when I was 20 and my mother is clinically disabled with 11 herniated discs and retired. I am exhausting credit cards just to stay ahead on rent and car insurance and I have recently in the last month just lost my job. I am actively looking for decent paying work and I thought I would give this a go and see if there were any kind people out there willing to help a would be scientist. Hello, I guess you have read many these requests for money with people giving various reasons and pleas for money. I never thought I would be in this situation after all in the Autumn of 2010 I had plenty of money for my needs after a good redundancy pay off. Then I started getting ill in June 2011 with neighbours from hell damaging my car by throwing paint remover over it. I had been having problems for years with them and a council that always made excuses for their tenant. When they was finally forced into doing something they just got him to agree to stop harassing me. Then sure enough once the 12 month period was up my vehicle was damaged. Then it got as far as him and his friends another neighbour talking not at me but loud enough for me to hear when I was near them that it was best to keep moving as don't want a heart attack and to get on your Bike. I was disgusted with the Council yet again giving excuses for doing nothing and even the police just sent a community support officer round, you could see he was scare of the locals by the way he quickly moved on if the spoke to him.. After months of this I had a break down and ended up in hospital detained as I was not looking after my weight and well being. While in hospital for September 2011 till august 2012 my nephew and older brother said they would look after my house and get repair work done. but on getting well in 2012 and starting to take back control of my affairs I found they and Their friends they had paid to do the repair work had conned me. There is nothing that hurts more than finding those you trusted would happily rob you when you are ill and vulnerable. To make matters worse the so called builders where Police officers working on their days off allegedly they through the family charged me tens of thousands and did very little work, which was of poor standard. I tried using the last thousand of my money hiring a Debt Recovery Company to get my money back but after £1000 was use up I was broke and no closer to getting my stolen money returned I tried contacting Trading standards but at first they would do nothing, after I complained they had someone send one of the builders a email telling them the customers rights to cancel! Then they claimed it was a civil matter and they would do no more. I contacted the Police to report they crime and they too said it was a civil matter and would do nothing about it. I even tried on advice reporting the Police officer (Would be builder) to the main Police HQ as he was a severing officer who had committee fraud in his off duty hours. Yet they said they would do nothing and that they though even the IPCC would do nothing. Yet when I spoke o a lawyer by email and phone, she said I need to persists as what they did was fraud and not to let the Police stone wall me and ignore the crime. Now in 2013 Oct I find myself, with no means to live on , denied benefit (appealing with Citizens Advice help) having to live on charity for food from food banks. yet my Doctor gave me a fit note saying not fit for work till 31/12/2013. I am meant to eat fruit and fresh food to help lose weight as well as treat my none alcoholic liver disease and diverticulosis. yet I have no money to afford any and when at food banks you are grateful for what you can get, even though most is tins or dried food. Yes they make allowances for vegetarian etc at food banks. As of now I have no income, debts building fear of having heating on or electric. I have a half finished home with news paper taped up at the windows for over a years as I cannot afford curtain track. I have rain getting in and causing damage to the two chimney stacks on my home, with growing damp patches I have registered at the local library for internet access so at least I can access information and rights online. Hence I now find myself here begging for money to help sort out my life, home and problems.. Never thought I would be in this situation at the age of 50...
