I am 49 years old and live on $710 a month in SSI--I became ill before I had paid the “full amount” into Social Security and so cannot collect Social Security Disability. I’ve managed to live on it for some time--sparsely, but adequately. I take pride in being able to live on so little--have no debts or outstanding bills. Due to recent changes in healthcare laws, however, I have lost the portion of my medical coverage which covers the cost of prescription drugs. My medications, which keep my chronic condition partially in check, cost nearly $600 per month (one of them, Lamictal, is $7.68 per pill!). Since January I have had to pay for them in cash or make other arrangements. Until now, I have been able to get my medications through patient assistance programs, samples provided by my doctors, and discounts offered by a very helpful pharmacy. I also received one month’s supply of medication through an area hospital’s “patient emergency fund”, which was a one-time only program. But I have now exhausted all of the resources available in my rural area. Until January of next year, when “Obamacare” begins to take effect, I must find a way to pay for my medications (even then, I do not know if prescription medication coverage will come back into effect). So right now I can buy my medications--or buy food. I can buy my medications--or pay my rent. I can buy my medications--and perhaps have enough left over to pay the utility bills. My needs are small. I live in a one-bedroom apartment, neither drink nor smoke nor use illicit drugs. I rely on friends for transportation--no bus or public transit here. It has always been difficult for me to ask for help, even from friends. Just asking for a ride seems like a major imposition to me and here I am about to ask for money from strangers. Forgive me--I feel that I have no other choice. I have said that my medications cost $600 per month. I believe that if I can come up with $500 per month I should be able to make it as I hope to be able to get a few samples and discounts in the coming year. Right now, however, I have nothing. Just a terrible looming expense on May 1st. Any help at all will be appreciated beyond words. You will be helping me to stay healthy. May God bless you for that.

Hi, My name is Crystal. I am a single mother of two small children, both boys ages 8 and 5. The reason I am posting this, Is because a while back ago, I was addicted to opiates. And for my children I fought that battle and got myself clean. I have been in drug treatment and have been clean for well over 2 years now. I have my treatment appointment every month, Which is $110.00. And getting the medicine filled every month is also very expensive. It is very important for me not to miss any doses of my medicine.My insurance that has been covering part of my addiction treatment, Has officially ran out. It will only pay for up to two years of treatment. And with my living situation right now, It would not be good to stop the treatment. I have a lot of faith in God, So I know he will take care of this for me. But I am still asking that everyone continue to spread the word about this donation site to help with the cost of the treatment and medications that I have to take to stay on the path of recovery. This is very important for my family to continue doing well. If it wasn't, Then I wouldn't be putting myself through the embarrassment of asking for help.The medicine is an opiate blocker and it has saved my life. My children need me and I can't take any chances of relapsing. I also just lost my mother last month to stage 4 lung cancer, So I am trying to keep it together for my kids and not let this get the best of me. So that is another reason I don't need to be without my medication. I am being honest here so please don't judge me. I draw a small SSD check monthly, But with 2 children I barely have money left over for anything else at all, So much less getting my medicine filled. I am also wanting to get up the money to get me and my children in a better living situation than what we are in at the moment. I believe that there is a God all mighty and that he will take care of us, But I also believe I am suppose to try and help myself too and not just wait for things to just fall into my lap. Greetings, My name is Martin, I have a girlfriend named Eve (Ieva in my native language) and I am looking for ways to help her. As the title mentions, it has to do with eyes. She has a pretty bad eyesight and it will only get worse over time ( she already wears glasses that are too week for her because wearing the necessary strength glasses would be too much of a shock for her eyes when she started wearing these, as the doctor said. ) We plan to live together for a long time (merry her? :) ) and it would be terrible if one day she could not see me at all.. :( Eye surgery can help fix that, but, as you may know, it costs.. some 4 digit numbers. We cannot possibly afford something like that anytime soon and the sooner the surgery is made, the better. I will appreciate any every donation very much.

well at the start of the year we were told by our landlord that he was selling our home but not to worry because he would place us in one of his other houses....a few days later he showed the house to somr people then that very night he asked us how soon could we be out. we told him just give us 30 days and he said ok. but then 2 days later he came back and said that he needed us out in 7 days. we didnt know what to do...we had no money and no family with space in the house for us...(me and my mother). luckily we had a friend who was willing to let us use a bedroom in her apartment. we dont want to be a bother to them so please help us out.any donation would be great! thank you and have a great day.
