Hello, my name is Joshua Orcutt. I am 24 years old and have a beautiful wife and three children that are my world. I would do anything for them but due to a series of unfortunate events I am close failing them miserably. I was working at the county jail as a correctional officer and one day another officer started using extremely unnecessary force against an inmate, who had done nothing to deserve that kind of treatment. So, I wrote a report about the situation and turned it into the sheriff. The next day I was called into work early and was fired when I arrived, while the abusive officer is still currently employed. Due to this incident, which happened two days before thanksgiving, I was out of work for over a month. I have a job now but it doesn't pay much and I can barely afford my bill, much less catch up what I am behind. My wife is in school and is considering dropping out to get a full time job. I can't let her do that. Knowing she is getting her education has made her so happy. I can't let that be taken away from her. Our house is looking at foreclosure, our car is in repossession status, a collection agency is contacting us about medical bills, We are being sued by a local loan provider, the IRS is wanting money from us for getting an ein for a business that we never officially started, and on top of all of that two of my children have grown out of their car seats and we can't afford new ones. Please help us, please.

I was raised to be a proud, moral, and self-sufficient man. So I am a bit ashamed for having to write this letter asking for help, but my children and I have been struggling and it’s only getting worse…and I don’t know what else to do. Our problems started two years ago when my wife of 11 years left me and our two children (ages 2 and 7) for another woman, leaving me and our children devastated. I have not been able to locate her and in addition, she left me with a large amount of debt to deal with, some of which I was not aware of until after she left…$50,000 worth. Before she left, we were able to make ends meet between both our incomes, but since she has left…I just have not been able to keep up with the payments for the debts she accumulated (student loans, credit cards) and car payment, mortgage, and bills. I have taken on a second job to help, but it’s just not enough and because I am not spending as much time at home, I feel like a spectator in my children’s lives instead of a participant and feel like I am not being a good father. If I could just get some of these debts paid off and get back to working one job instead of two, the quality of life for my two children would greatly improve. I hope that one day I will be able to “pay it forward” by being in the same position you are in right now, and can help someone in need. Please help, and God Bless.

God bless you all, I currently am out of work and I will have no choice but go back to my parents house if I do not get some money to help pay my friends rent. My parents are abusive and I know it's my fault i'm here but I just can't go back. I either luck out and get a job, get some donations, or I will be on the streets. Donations will help me stay at my friends place,get a dress for job interviews and pay for food, and living supplies. Boyfriend and I are self-employed, money is never stable but has recently become extremely low (almost nothing, and if it does come in, it goes very quickly). Boyfriend has 3 children who need to be fed, we also need clothing and other things, but this is less important. Many crises keep happening around us, and it is very hard right now. Anything that anyone can spare is greatly and deeply appreciated!!
