Help Me Be the Father My Children Deserve
My name is Romi, and I’m a single father from Indonesia doing my best to raise two wonderful sons, aged 12 and 14, who are currently in junior high school (grades 7 and 9).
I work full-time at a private company and earn around $250 per month, which barely covers our basic needs. Unfortunately, due to past financial challenges — including high-interest online loans I took during a very difficult time — my salary now goes entirely toward repaying debts. This means there’s nothing left for food, school fees, or even emergency needs.
I want to be honest with you:
When I was married, I failed in my role as a husband — my marriage ended after my wife was unfaithful. But from that moment on, I made a promise to myself and my children:
“Even if I failed as a husband, I will not fail as a father.”
But today, that promise feels heavy.
One of my sons recently told me he doesn’t want to go to school anymore because he’s ashamed — I haven’t been able to pay off his school fees for the past year. And I can’t bear to see the sadness in their eyes when I can’t provide even the simplest joys of childhood.
Despite my struggles, I believe I am not alone.
I believe there are fathers — and kind hearts — all over the world who understand what it means to love your children with everything you have.
What I Need Help With
I am seeking to raise $3,500 USD, which will be used for:
Paying off debt and escaping the cycle of high-interest loans
Covering a full year of school fees for both of my sons
Providing food and basic needs for my family
Every dollar helps. Every share makes a difference.
If you're a father, or someone who believes in the power of second chances, please help me keep my promise — to never fail my children.
Thank You
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading my story. Thank you for any support you can give — even just a kind word or a share. You give me hope that I can continue being the father my sons deserve.
With gratitude,
Romi
